An exciting way to ride the crystal blue water of Las Terrenas, accessible for people of most ages, with less wind needed than kiting or windsurfing.Wing foiling is a brand-new sport developed recently by kiters and windsurfers. Not much kiting experience is required, or even probably none for you to learn…
It combines the use of a foil with a sail windsurf type, with no use of a harness. There’s no complicated bar or line to tangle, wing is much easier to handle even more if you are a windsurfer. Winging is such a fun sport! Quite easy to set up, you don’t need to be a windsurfer or a kiter, to begin with wing foiling, though you should practice having control on some type of board before getting started. As you are getting speed, the hydrofoil lifts the board off the water and allows the rider to cruise above the water.
When you start, you will be on your knees on the board with the wing positioned above your head. The wing shouldn’t be touching the water at all; otherwise, you will fall.
The reason why wind-foiling became so popular so quickly is that you don’t need to carry heavy windsurfing gear; you can travel light with the wing-foil, making it an easy sport to enjoy across the globe. Also, you can access different spots where kitesurfing isn’t possible because of wind shadow, like the lake & river: basically, you can ride everywhere when there is wind and water!

For the very first step, we use a big paddle foil board 150L combined with a large foil that is super easy to take off and stable once you are flying (size 2400 square cm). The size of the wing will be between 5 & 6m according to your body weight. We will do the first lesson on the beach, showing you how to handle the wing, how to generate power, and how to avoid touching the water, which can make you fall down.
For an intermediate rider, we recommend a board between 60L – 90L combined with an average size foil around 1200cm2 square centimeters with a 5m – 6m wing size. You can fit your gear in a normal board bag 145cm during your flight (check our best selection of companies to pay less luggage fees)

- PUNTA CANA : the tourist machine where you can find the cheapest flights to come into the Dominican Republic with a lot of connections, but most beaches don’t have free access like Playa Blanca or Juanillo.
